Donna’s Tips

A word to the wise – If you want your tax returns to be prepared promptly and accurately, go see your tax preparer in February.  If you are waiting until the last minute (as in April – not just the 15th), chances are your preparer is going to have a backlog and will have to file an extension.  Also, do you really want someone who has been working long, crazy days for the past 12 weeks to prepare your returns when their cognitive function is probably at the lowest?

Of course, a good accountant would never perform shoddy work on your returns, even if it is April.  But, why put us all under that stress?  Make arrangements to get all your tax data to your accountant before the end of March.  His mental health will thank you.
